What Is OLAP?

OLAP is On Line Analytical Processing. Information is stored in a multidimensional database that lets you quickly and easily have access to any values that you need, You are easily able to prepare budgets and see the impact of What-If scenarios.

How many units of product A did we sell to all our customers last month?
How does that compare to the same period last year.?
What is the breakdown by customer?
Which branches made the sales?

These are questions that are frequently asked and often require many hours of manipulation and analysis.
